The Joys of Torturing Grandma

In 25 years, I look forward to being tortured the way Jonah tortures his Grandma Candy.  He wears her out and then sends her on her way.  That's what's so great about being a grandma.  You get all the benefits of shaping little lives but still get to sleep through the night, eat your meals sitting down, read a book, use the restroom without being interrogated and don't go out in public with cheerios stuck to your neck.

A recent visit was no exception.  Jonah showed her his toys, his room, his archery set and the best Christmas present of all - a big box.  I found them in the pitch black of the basement IN the box with flashlights.

Then, some cuddling on the couch with sweet baby Jude.

See, all the benefits of watching them grow into the people they will become without having to clean poop out of the bathtub...thank you very much for that one Jude!

Jonah and Grandma Candy

All three of them crammed in a dark box.

The box in the very dark basement.  No, we don't have a goat in our basement.  The bales of straw are for Jonah's archery target practice.  I don't want to hear it.  It's ridiculous, we know.

  1. Love the last picture. Grandma's are lots of fun, aren't they?

  2. We bought a bow and arrow for Ephram this year. Ours has little orange suction cups instead of actual tips though.
I saw the bales of hay in the picture, and I didnt find it strange at all. I guess that's because I too have boys, and ridiculous things happen when boy children are involved. You think that ever goes away?
