What I did on my summer vacation...

Well, not really a vacation, but I did have a lot of fun.  I'll share a couple projects with you over the next couple of days.  The biggest project to share, our outdoor remodeling project, will not be nearly as grandiose as I had hoped because we didn't take final pictures before we left for California.  So I'll share what we have later this week.

But today you get to see what I made out of a few sections of garden picket fencing left behind by the previous owners.  Before, it was used as a perimeter for what we guess was a vegetable garden because nothing EVER grew in this dirt.  So we yanked it out of the ground and put it in a pile, hoping that we would find a use for it.

The deck looks nothing like this anymore.  We tore half of it out and made the area to the left into a large garden with walking paths.  It just kind of terminated into the grass and was lacking something.

The salvaged fence was perfect for this space but it needed to be white because that's what picket fences do...they're white.  Jonah helped me prime and paint it.

The fence is a little "less than perfect" with some crooked sections but I'm okay with that.  What do you think now?  Pretty cute, huh:)
