Trying to keep it together

I have not blogged in 3 weeks.  Want to know why?  Because I've been having a 3-week long temper tantrum over the RIDICULOUS amounts of rain we've been getting.  A record breaking 12 inches of rain came down in April.  TWELVE!  Even when it isn't raining, the ground is too wet to even mow. It's just a big mess.

To piss me off even more, we have a huge outdoor remodeling project going on.  This rain has taken what could have been a four week project and turned it into an entire "spring" project.

All I have waited for all winter is to get outside and play in the garden.  It's been a real challenge to do so.

We have been able to sneak outside between storms when we can.  And you can occasionally find me gardening in rain boots while it's raining.  That's how frustrated I am.

We're making big progress now, though.  The old deck is gone, the new one is nearing complete with railing and rope lighting.  The dirt pit that was uncovered after the deck was removed (where Adam had his concussion) has been tilled and a new area of walking paths, flower beds, vegetable gardens and a firepit have transformed the space.  We still have a ton of work to do but it's finally coming together.  We've been taking lots of before and in-progress pictures and will unveil it soon.
